HCLC Annual Meeting—Sunday, Nov. 9th, 2025
We hope you will join us for our Annual Meeting at noon. We will approve our 2026 budget and vote on council members. This year, the council asked the 2026 council member candidates a few questions related to their background, experience, plans, and aspirations for Holy Comforter. Members, please take a moment to review this information so that you can make an informed decision when we vote on Sunday, following the 11 a.m. worship service. Scroll down to see candidate info.

Tell us about yourself:
My family became members of Holy Comforter Lutheran Church after moving here in 1986. I attended Sunday School, confirmation classes, and youth group activities. I have very fond memories of spending a week at Luther Hill for summer camp during middle school and attending the National Youth Group Gathering in New Orleans during high school. Through my years at Holy Comforter, I developed a relationship with God, which I use as guidance through all obstacles in life. In my youth, I loved playing sports. I attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, on a softball scholarship, where I earned a degree in accounting. During my time at Drake, I attended different church services with teammates and joined FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), as I always found comfort in my faith. After graduating from Drake, I moved back to the area and worked in different accounting jobs. I worked for American Express (special accounting projects), AIG (mutual fund accounting), and EPCO, Inc. (oil and gas company doing financial reporting). While working in these positions, I attained a commercial pilot’s license as well as instrument and multi-engine ratings because I wasn’t convinced I wanted to work in an office all day. While I was at EPCO, I met my husband, Roger, whom I married in 2010. Right before we got married, I changed careers and went into teaching and coaching for Humble ISD. I taught high school (Kingwood Park and Kingwood High) business and math classes for over 10 years. I was also an assistant coach (basketball/ softball) for 8 of those years. In 2021, I left teaching and went back to accounting. I currently work from home for a small company called Mac Accounting Group & CPA’s, LLP, doing audit work. I have two kids, Jett (age 14) and Kyle (age 11), who take up the majority of my time outside of work. While my biggest focus is on coaching the boys through life and teaching them to be decent human beings, I have also enjoyed helping coach many of their various sports teams through the years. This winter I am coaching Kyle’s basketball team through Upward at Woodbridge Baptist Church. Both boys were baptized at Holy Comforter and attend WOW on Wednesday nights.
What are your hopes and aspirations for Holy Comforter Lutheran Church?
My biggest hopes for Holy Comforter Lutheran Church would be to see growth in its attendance and membership, especially for young families. I would love to see the youth programs grow in hopes that our children have the same opportunities to serve and to learn about God that I had growing up. I believe Holy Comforter does a great job providing service opportunities. I hope that continues and that more people become involved.
What skills and experiences will you offer to God through your service on Church Council?
If God calls for me to serve on the Church Council, I will offer all my skills and experiences to assist our congregation in fulfilling our various missions and to spread the word of God. My faith in the Lord has always allowed me to follow new roads.
