Amazing things are happening on Bees Ferry Road. Holy Comforter Lutheran Church and St. Andrew's Lutheran Church (on Wentworth St. in downtown Charleston) have consolidated. On Dec. 3, 2006, each congregation closed; and at 3 p.m. that same day, a special service of organization and opening of the charter gave birth to a new congregation – Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church – to expand our ministry in the ever-growing West Ashley area. St. Andrew's has had a significant presence in downtown Charleston since 1850, and Holy Comforter has served the West Ashley area since 1959. Holy Comforter moved from Savannah Highway to Bees Ferry Road in the very heart of West Ashley in 2000 to better serve our community. Led by the Holy Spirit (and thus our name), this consolidation joins two faithful congregations to lift the cross of Jesus even higher. God is doing a new thing: now we have a new name, a new mission, a new ministry, a new calling, a new opportunity to share the Gospel with a new generation, including many who have never been a part of "Church" in any form! Come and See! Come and be a part of God's Amazing Grace! Living in God's amazing grace, we strive to serve God not only with our lips, but also with our lives. "God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them" (I John 4:16). No matter who you are, something happens when you meet the God who loves you and welcomes you home. We believe we have what the world needs today. Could this be what you're looking for? We invite you to... "Come and See" Sunday mornings Bluegrass Mass: 4th Sunday Evening of each Month at 6 p.m. (no Bluegrass Mass in February due to area-wide Concert & BBQ supper at Redeemer Lutheran Church to support TriCounty Family Ministries. Next Bluegrass Mass at Holy Spirit March 26) Pastor: Ron Brown * Vicar: Melinda Jones * Telephone: 843-766-2602 * email: holycom1@bellsouth.net

![]() The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, "Follow me." Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found him about whom Moses in the law and also the phophets wrote, Jesus son of Joseph from Nazareth." Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." --John 1:43-44 |
